Updated: January 18, 2019

On Tuesday Night, All Sports Series tipped off another season of the Winter TUESDAY Hoops League at Windy City Fieldhouse.

Along for the ride this Winter are a few talented and experienced All Sports Series Franchises. We also have a couple of newcomers this season who’ll be looking to cement their names in the All Sports Series community.

Team Knox is the most experienced All Sports Series group this Winter and has an All Sports Series crown to their name. They’ll be looking to add another crown to their mantle this Winter. Team LifeTime Blur is another group that has had some All Sports Series Hoops experience and will be looking to claim their first Hoops crown this Winter. Team Anderson is another veteran group of guys that are coming together for the first time to try to take home the coveted All Sports Series Hoops crown.

The rest of the teams this Winter may not have much or any All Sports Series experience under their belts, but they are no rookies to the Chicago Hoops scene.

Power Rankings

1. Team Knox – 1-0

Where to start the Winter TUESDAY Hoops Week 1 Power Rankings but with our semi-finalist from the Fall TUESDAY Hoops season. Listen close everyone, Team Knox has earned the #1 spot and then some. In the league’s first big statement game of the season, #1 Team Knox showed off their All Sports Series Hoops experience, depth and versatility in a spirited 110-56 win over INDY Team #5. Stat stuffer Tremell Adams was all over the court as usual as he posted a league-high 36 points on Tuesday Night. Captain Andre Knox did an amazing job controlling the game from the point guard position as he chipped in 21 points of his own. Chris “Euro” Elder also had himself a heck of game, dropping 29 points to help his squad secure the lopsided victory. Team Knox remains the undisputed team to beat this Winter. They get All Sports Series newcomers #3 Wet Dream Team (1-0) in a battle of unbeatens in our Week 2 Game of the Week!

2. LifeTime Blur – 1-0

Team LifeTime Blur are back for another All Sports Series Hoops season after having a fantastic Fall season that ended in the Semi-Finals. This squad is built on the strengths of Captain Anfernee Tevin James, Gregory Gillespie and Jeremiah Bankole. Role players however are never more appreciated than when they help a team to a Finals appearance. Adding the likes of Anthony Granato and Esam Kashkeesh should make Team LifeTime Blur’s Offense even more potent this season…which is certainly a scary thought. They showed no ill effects however from last season’s Semi-Finals loss as they wasted no time securing their first W on the Winter TUESDAY Hoops season, beating Team Anderson 77-70 on Opening Night. Captain James was overly active on Tuesday night, dropping a team-high 22 points. Gregory Gillespie was right behind him, posting a solid 20-point performance of his own. This team is good, really, really good. They’ll look to take their record to a perfect 2-0 coming up in Week 2 when they take the court against #6 INDY Team #5 (0-1).

3. Wet Dream Team – 1-0

By the final score of 42-33, Wet Dream Team and Captain Andrew Lively got their 2019 Winter season off to great start and recorded their first All Sports Series Hoops victory. Wet Dream Team came out firing on all cylinders on Tuesday evening and were led by Adam Hufford’s 9-point performance. Six other players all recorded their names in the scorebook in this one as Brandon Dombrowski added 8 points, Dan Coleman pitched in with 7 points, Kyle Terpstra dropped 6 points while Eric Hibbard and Petar Todorovic both pitched in with 4 points of their own. This team is very balanced and can put up big numbers on any given Tuesday, while their Defense looks to be like the real deal. Wet Dream Team looks to be one of the most talented groups in the league this Winter, and, for the most part, they showed that on Tuesday night. They will look to build upon their very strong opening night performance and will want nothing less than a shot at the title this Winter. Coming up in Week 2, Wet Dream Team will look to take their record to 2-0 as they take on #1 Team Knox (1-0) in our Week 2 Game of the Week!

4. Team Anderson – 0-1

If you really want to get an idea of how deep this Winter league is going to be, look no further than our #4 ranked team in Week 1, All Sports Series Hoops veterans, Team Anderson. I will tell everyone something right now; Team Anderson is better than the #4 Ranked Team in this League. They didn’t have their best on Opening Night as they ended up dropping the contest to Team LifeTime Blur by a final score of 77-70. While most of this roster is comprised of All Sports Series Hoops veterans, this squad is coming together for the first time this season. Captain Ian Anderson and co. can really fill the stat sheet on any night. Mack Watts led all scorers in this Week 1 contest against Team LifeTime Blur, dropping a huge 24-point performance. Captain Ian and Danny Nordmann both put-up double-digit scoring efforts in this one, combining to score 29 points. These guys will put up big numbers all season long, they’ll just need to get a few games under their belts to start jelling as a crew. They’ll look to pull back to .500 in Week 2 against #5 The Average Wolves of Pen Island (0-1).

5. The Average Wolves of Pen Island – 0-1

The Average Wolves of Pen Island and Captain John Emanuel may be new to the All Sports Series Hoops scene, but they are no strangers to the Chicago Hoops scene. These guys have a ton of experience in Chicago Sport and Social Club leagues and will be looking to make a name for themselves this Winter in their first ever All Sports Series Hoops league. Unfortunately, opening night did not go as planned for them as they dropped a tough game to #3 Wet Dream Team by a final score of 42-33. Will Reedy led the way for The Average Wolves of Pen Island on Tuesday evening, scoring 12 points. Joe Weber pitched in with 8 points of his own, while Grant Greeno and Danny Shannon contributed 5 points apiece. These guys will be right in the thick of things this Winter, they’ll just need to improve a bit on the Offensive end of the court. They’ll look to pick up their first ever All Sports Series Hoops victory coming up on Tuesday night and bring their record to .500 when they take the floor against #4 Team Anderson (0-1).

6. INDY Team #5 – 0-1

INDY Team #5 is a squad comprised of a group of free agents that are coming together for the season. These guys got down early to #1 Team Knox as they were trying to build a little chemistry with one another. In the second half they were able to battle back a little bit, but ultimately ended up dropping the game by a final score of 110-56. They will only get better as they get to know one another and as the season progresses. Jacob Miller and Vasilije Cupara led the way Offensively for INDY Team #5 in this contest as they both finished with 10 points apiece. Eric DiMicelli also had a nice opening night, scoring 9 points of his own. Reed Hogan and Darko Jelovac contributed to the cause with 7 points each. Coming up in Week 2, they will take on #2 Team LifeTime Blur (1-0) in an opportunity to get their record to .500 and climb up the Week 2 Power Rankings.

That’s a wrap for Week 1! Looking forward to another great week coming up on Tuesday night!
